Peter Braune

Bio

Peter's interest in printmaking began when he attended Alberta College of Art in Calgary. On graduating he won a travel scholarship and traveled across Canada printing in various co-op studios. Next he did a year of graduate studies at Emily Carr School of Art & Design to become a Master Printer. Around then he met Gary Bowden who taught etching and owned a print shop that Peter would eventually buy, and has been running ever since.

More recently Peter spent 2 years as a master printer in New York and Singapore, working for Ken Tyler of Tyler Graphics. He has also worked several times as a master printer in lithography for Kent Lovelace of Stone Press in Seattle over the last 15 years.

Over the 25 years of running New Leaf Editions, Peter has printed for many well known (and not so well known) artists from all parts of Canada. He continues to work and play in Vancouver.
