Collagraph Workshop
November 11 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
$90.00
July 22, 23 and 24, 2022
Join Rita Loehr for a three sessions workshop where participants will be introduced to the collagraph printmaking process. A variety of plate making techniques, including carborundum grit aquatint, incising and building up of the plate will be covered. This will be done using various substances and surfaces, including mat board and card board, yarn, fabric, sand, leaves, glue, polymer mediums and more. The construction of the plate is similar to making a collage and can be spontaneous in nature resulting in a very creative and experimental form of printmaking. It also allows artists the freedom of making multiple copies of their work through the printing process.
Artists more experienced with printmaking and collagraph are welcome to participate too!
The workshop will last 3 days
- July 22, 5:30pm – 9pm
- July 23, 9am – 5pm
- July 24, 9am – 5pm
*All materials and equipment will be provided and are included in the workshop fee
Rita Loehr is an interdisciplinary artist based on Vancouver Island. She studied at the Alberta College of Art with a focus on printmaking.
