New Leaf Editions is delighted to announce “Mezzotint: Fundamentals and Specifics” Workshop led by artist, Ryan O’Malley. Join us for an immersive two and a half day learning experience where you will learn everything about mezzotint techniques.
Workshop
This 2.5-day workshop will focus on fundamentals and specifics of mezzotint engraving including plate preparation, rocking, image transfer, scraping and burnishing, inking, printing, and tool care. Additionally, instructor Ryan O’Malley will provide numerous examples from his collection for viewing and discussion and as always, provide some form of cuisine for participants.
Artists Biography
Ryan O’Malley
With a rich background in printmaking and education, Ryan O’Malley serves as Professor of Art and Graduate Coordinator at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. His extensive experience as an artist, educator, and member of the Outlaw Printmakers ensures a dynamic and enriching workshop experience for all participants.
