New Leaf Editions was founded in May 1986 on Granville Island by master printer Peter Braune. Since its inception, New Leaf has worked with many renowned artists, both locally and internationally. Peter’s extensive knowledge of printmaking and his dedication to collaboration have made New Leaf Editions a vital and respected part of Vancouver’s—and Canada’s—creative community.
New Leaf Editions has organized and hosted BIMPE—the Biennial International Miniature Print Exhibition—for 22 years (from 2000 – 2023). You might already know us from past exhibitions!
To mark this milestone, we are organizing a fundraising exhibition that celebrates the art of printmaking and brings together printmakers from around the world. The exhibition will take place in our printmaking studio and gallery, and we would be honoured to include your work.
We ask you to create a print with your interpretation of a frog. So… why a frog?
When Peter Braune graduated from college, he was given a Kermit the Frog doll that travelled with him around the world. Over the years, friends and artists began gifting him frogs of all kinds, and New Leaf Editions has since built a much-loved collection. The frog has become a playful and meaningful symbol of New Leaf’s history and community.

- Image size: exactly 3 × 4 inches
- Paper size: 7 × 8 inches on archival paper
- Edition size: 5 prints
- Pricing: Please provide a sale price for each print
- Fundraising structure:
- First print sale will be donated to support New Leaf Editions
- Additional sales will be split 60% to the artist, 40% to the New Leaf Editions
- All printing techniques accepted, except giclee, digital printing or photographic reproductions
- No AI generated artwork, please
All participants will receive a digital catalogue.
