New Leaf Editions is delighted to announce “Print Altar Relief Printing Workshop: Celebrating the Day of the Dead”.
Workshop
Join us for a hands-on relief printing workshop inspired by the traditions of the Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos). In this workshop, we will lead you through the basics of relief printmaking while creating unique artworks that reflect the symbolism and spirit of the Day of the Dead.
During the workshop, participant will
- Carve 2, 6 by 6-inch block prints
- Create individual prints inspired by Day of the Dead
- learn the fundamentals of relief printmaking
- Make a ‘prints-altar’ made with the prints during the workshop
Refreshment provided at the end of the workshop
- Home-baked Pan de Muerto
- Hot chocholate by Kasama chocolate
All necessary tools and safety equipment will be provided. No prior printmaking experience is necessary – just bring your creativity!
Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit of ink on!
